What I Do to Soothe Myself

Things have been a little rough lately. I'm taking a break from any long posts. Don't have the emotional strength or brain power to write a whole lot right now.

When I get upset or depressed I drive up to the mountains and take photos. There was a light rain today but I headed for the hills anyhow. Glad I did. I came back with a soothed soul. Hope you enjoy them.

Now those are some gorgeous pictures. That first one would make a good framed picture to hang on the wall, if it was enlarged and matted. Hope things get better for you. {{{Hugs}}}

Lovely! The branches in the third photo are perfect.

I grew up near the Appalachian mountains and I've been terribly homesick for them since moving to DC. That's what I used to do when I was sad or upset or needed to get out: just drive and drive and drive (and take pictures!). I miss that so much. Shenandoah just doesn't cut it.

Thank you Vesta. I feel blessed to live near such beauty. It is hard to take a bad photo up there. Love my mountains.

Lindley,

I tried to move to Nahsville once. I was young and found Nashville an exciting and interesting place. But I kept having flashbacks of the mountains(yes, they are the Appalachians) and they totally lured me back. Couldn't live without them. So I understand your homesickness for them.

I have a much longer drive to get to them now, but it is worth every minute and every ounce of $3.00 gallon gas to have my soul soothed. Hope you get to come back someday if that is what you want!
